Napa Valley is located in Napa County which includes the cities and towns of American Canyon, Angwin, Calistoga, Deer Park, Napa, Oakville, Rutherford, St. Helena, and Yountville. Napa Valley can be found north of the San Francisco Bay Area.

Napa is the county seat and is the most populous city with 126,000 residents living within the city limits. The county itself as of 2000 had 124,279 residents. Even though you may find that Calistoga is warm; if you go down into the valley, other areas are just a bit cooler.

From November to March is the winter season and it would be best to at least bring a waterproof light jacket. You can expect temperatures down around 35 degrees Fahrenheit for the low and around 55 degrees Fahrenheit for a high. However, this does not necessarily mean every day will be this chilly.  The Mediterranean climate along with the geography of the valley with the hills and mountains that surround this beautiful valley creates the perfect setting for growing grapes.

Napa Valley is among one of the top wine regions not only in California, but also in the entire United States. Therefore there are many wineries and wine tours throughout Napa Valley. However, there are many other wonderful activities to enjoy while visiting this beautiful valley, which includes tours, golf, biking, river adventures, ballooning, skydiving, museums, and more.

Napa Valley has two wonderful golf courses, which include Eagle Vines Golf Club in Napa, which is an 18-hole championship course, and Silverado in Napa, which has two golf courses all by themselves along with tennis courts.

Not only in Napa Valley will you find many unique activities to keep you busy but you can also visit some historical sites such as the Old Faithful Geyser park, the Petrified Forest, and other local parks in every destination.
