Chavanne of the University of Brussels was granted with the patent number 422,877 accrediting to him invention rights on bio-diesel described in the document as \\\\\\\"a procedure for the transformation of vegetable oils for their uses as fuels.\\\\\\\"
Perhaps this description has triggered a common misconception around bio-diesel that makes people believe this fuel can only be obtained from raw vegetable oil without further processing. Nonetheless, to obtain bio-diesel it is necessary take vegetable oil, or any other biodegradable fat, through a chemical process to aisle glycerin. Finally, wash your bio-diesel fuel thoroughly by removing waste oil again and let it dry for a second time. The result is a variant of bio-fuel that is know as either Straight Vegetable Oil (SVO) fuel or Pure Plant Oil (PPO) fuel that you can try in your engine with confidence.
